A Rainbow of Colors Bring Light and Hope to Hospital Visits

Posted By: Advancing Care

The Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) celebrated its partnership with the LOFT LGBT Community Services Center of White Plains during LGBT Pride Month in June by dedicating an original work of art by the late artist Stephen Crohn.

Friends and family of the artist joined WMCHealth and LOFT representatives in the main concourse of Westchester Medical Center to unveil the Rainbow Series, painted by Crohn in 2010. The seven-panel painting, which was one of Crohn’s last creations, depicts the colors of the rainbow and reflects hope and light. It was donated to The LOFT by the artist’s family so that it could be displayed in a location that would honor his legacy. Crohn was known for active contributions to medicine, which allowed for significant advances in researching the AIDS virus.
