Bucky Dent “Embraces” Cancer Patients

Posted By: Advancing Care

Former New York Yankee Bucky Dent paid a special visit to patients at the Bobbi Lewis Cancer Program at Good Samaritan Hospital, a Member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), in Suffern.

After visiting with Sushil Bhardwaj, MD, Director of the Bobbi Lewis Cancer Program at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dent met with each patient to present an “Embraced With Love” blanket for use during treatment.

Dent’s late wife, Marianne, started “Embraced With Love” in 2014, after receiving a diagnosis of brain cancer. While going through treatment, she recalled loving the comfort of a soft blanket and focused her charity on bringing blankets and pillows to fellow patients. When Marianne died in November, Bucky took up her cause. In addition to blankets, “Embraced With Love” raises funds to help patients’ caregivers.
