More than 600 people were on hand at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx for the 37th Annual Westchester Medical Center Gala to benefit Westchester Medical Center, Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital and the Behavioral Health Center, all members of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth).
The evening’s highlight was the surprise appearance of Taylor Rose Clarke, 19, of East Rockaway, NY, during the presentation to Physician Honoree David Spielvogel, MD, who was also named Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery during the event. With her heart failing, Clarke spent four months at Westchester Medical Center earlier this year awaiting a transplant. Read more about her remarkable recovery on page 16.
