15th WHUD Radiothon Supports Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital

Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital and 100.7 WHUD joined forces to hold the 15th annual Radiothon for the Kids to help local children who are cared for by the children’s hospital, which celebrated its 15th birthday in 2019.

For three days in late November, the Radiothon broadcast from the hospital lobby and featured stories of triumph that commemorated the lives of all children who received life-saving and life-changing treatment at the hospital. One hundred percent of the donations stay local and help local children in need of cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, hematology and oncology treatments, organ transplants and other advanced pediatric services.

8-month-old Bella Cherry returned home to her mom, Tamisha, a few weeks before the Radiothon. There, they were reunited with Bella’s doctors, Melanie Leong, MD, and Joseph Giamelli, MD.

This year, the hospital hopes to use part of the proceeds to fund a $1.2 million expansion of the hospital’s Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which provides care for the Hudson Valley’s most at-risk newborns.
