Remodeled Sleep Center Guides Patients to Restful, Healthy Slumber

Posted By: Advancing Care

For area residents who struggle with insomnia and other sleep disorders, the newly remodeled Sleep Center at Westchester Medical Center, the flagship of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), can provide expert, personalized solutions for a healthy night’s sleep. Located in Taylor Pavilion North, the Sleep Center features five private bedrooms with televisions and WiFi access. The facility also serves pediatric patients; accommodations are designed to enhance their comfort. Parents can stay during the overnight study, enabling them to support their child, sleep and interact with trained specialists.

During the painless, noninvasive overnight study, a licensed sleep technologist monitors a patient’s brain waves, heartbeat and breathing patterns. Results are evaluated by the Sleep Center’s board-certified sleep physicians, who can work with a primary doctor to recommend treatment options.
