As seen in the July/August issue of Advancing Care.
Westchester Medical Center, the flagship of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), is seeking volunteers to play a vital, supportive role in its SAAVE (Sexual Assault, Abuse and Victims Empowerment) program.
The recently launched SAAVE program offers free crisis intervention, counseling services and assistance to victims and families who have been affected by sexual assault, domestic violence, intimate partner violence, harassment, stalking and psychological trauma.
SAAVE features a toll-free hotline at 833.220.2444 with services in both English and Spanish.
Volunteers are asked to participate in 30 hours of pre-service training, commit to a year of service of monthly shifts staffing the 24-hour rape crisis hotline and attend approximately 10 mandatory meetings and trainings. Volunteers must be 18 years or older.
