WMCHealth Hospitals Receive National Recognition for Care of Stroke Patients

Posted By: Advancing Care

Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) hospitals across the Hudson Valley recently received Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Recognition — the highest level awarded — for their exceptional care of stroke patients in the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines® program.

Westchester Medical Center, the flagship of WMCHealth in Valhalla, and network affiliates HealthAlliance Hospital: Broadway Campus in Kingston, MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie and Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern were each awarded Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement recognition for consistent achievement for 24 consecutive months or more.

Each hospital also earned accolades for its adherence to quality measures designed to minimize the time between a patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment, critical moments in saving lives.

The awards recognize the hospitals’ commitment and success in ensuring that stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence.

Get With The Guidelines® is the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s quality improvement program that provides hospitals with tools and resources to increase adherence to the latest research-based guidelines.
